UTSA’s Terminal 136 Presents Artist Sarah Fox

I took a stroll around Southtown for first Friday and found myself at the UTSA’s Terminal 136. Terminal 136 is the new off-campus gallery of the Department of Art and Art History of the University of Texas at San Antonio. Artist Sarah Fox presented her MFA Thesis “Surrogate”. Walking around the gallery you are brought in to a surreal world of anthropomorphic characters that exist in a sort of minimalistic dream world. The characters in her paintings begin as collages that she creates from magazines and other sources. Fox’s art was influenced by her own pregnancy. Surrogate’s theme features both maternal and embryonic elements. For a list of more exhibits coming out of UTSA visit http://art.utsa.edu/terminal-136 . Check out some of the photos I shot below and keep an eye out for future events at this cool spot.
